Security challenges that the United States faces today are many. General Thomas, Commander of the United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) talks about these challenges at a university forum. He recently spent time at the International Security Studies Program (ISSP) at The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy where he led a discussion on “Special Operations in a Complex World”. The Fletcher School is part of Tufts University located in Medford, Massachusetts.

“General Thomas identified Russia, China, North Korea, Iran and violent extremism as five of the biggest national security risks for the United States and the World today. He emphasized that, as complex and dangerous each is in its own right, one of SOCOM’s key roles is to identify and combat the ever-increasing challenges posed by linkages between these five risks.”
