The United States and other members of the Coalition are continuing their air campaign against the Islamic State in the countries of Iraq and Syria. These air strikes are taking place on an almost daily basis. For instance, on August 12th, four strikes were conducted using attack and fighter aircraft against ISIL targets in Sryia. In addition, 10 strikes were conducted by fighter aircraft against ISIL targets in Iraq.
Typical targets include oil tankers, oil storage tanks, tactical vehicles, communications towers, IED factories, assembly areas, observation posts, weapons caches, and fighting positions. The Combined Joint Task Force “Operation Inherent Resolve” sends out news releases on air strikes.
