Sirte, Libya Liberated. It appears that the U.S. Department of Defense is declaring victory in Libya over the ousting of the Islamic State from Sirte, Libya. A campaign by the Government of National Accord (GNA) (with a little help from European and U.S. SOF and airpower) has been successful after many long months of fighting.
