The 27th Special Operations Wing – 27th SOW – recently conducted an exercise in Utah and Colorado testing new mission capabilities. The full mission profile (FMP) exercise was held in unfamiliar territory far from their normal training and exercise location at Melrose Air Force range (MAFR) near Cannon Air Force Base.

By projecting its forces to a distant location the 27th SOW was able to stress its logistical and communications support systems. The wing stood up a fully functional joint operations center at Cannon Air Force Base which assisted in the long distance communication requirements. The exercise used the assets of over ten 27th SOW agencies.
