The Resolute Support Mission in Afghanistan reports that two U.S. troops were killed in Afghanistan on Wednesday, June 26, 2019.

A Taliban spokesman said that two U.S. soldiers were killed in Urozgan province. Some news media outlets are stating one was a Special Forces soldier and the other Army EOD.

The 26 June casualties increase the number of U.S. service members lost in Afghanistan to nine personnel.

Very little information is released by the Department of Defense until the 24 hours after families of the service members have been notified. It is customary for media outlets to refrain from providing details until the DoD releases the names of the casualties.
